Sorry it has been so long!

Hi everyone!

I am SO sorry I have not posted anything in such a long time. Life in California has been very different so I have been taking time trying to adjust. My aunt and uncle whom I am staying with just bought a new house. So we spent all of today moving everything from the condo to the new house. So instead of the condo to myself, I now have a whole single family home to myself. Please come visit me?

Anywhos, my family out here is great. There always seem to be lots of children running around. Which I love. We drove the truck down to Pismo Beach and had a bonfire last night and I am going to the beach again tomorrow with some friends I met! Yay! Here is the sunset on the beach last night:

I was also just down in Coronado with my roommate Bits and her family for a big party they had. I took the train down from San Luis Obispo to San Diego which is an absolutely gorgeous ride, right along the coast the entire time and straight through mansions in Santa Barbara, Malibu and such. It's always fun to stare at other people's expensive homes.

On the way home from San Diego Bits and I stopped in LA to see Christopher! He has a very cute apartment in Koreatown, which works well because he loves Korean food. We in fact had Korean food for lunch of course and after what seemed like 3 minutes we finally left for Arroyo Grande. While Bits was on the Central Coast I took to her one of my favorite places: Montana de Oro, a free state park that will soon be closed because of the whole California-going-bankrupt thing. Look how pretty it is!

I miss home a ton and miss my family more than anything. Bro just got to his new place in Massachusetts! Hooray! He is going to be a nerdy history TA. Bahaha. Just kidding, he will be awesome :)

And for my final number tonight (and by that I mean for everyone's general enjoyment) here is AJ, one of my little cousins out here, in her happy place:

Hangin' out in Cali

To catch up:

We got up on Saturday morning and saw the Grand Canyon one more
time, because we couldn't get enough of it. Seriously people, go to the Grand Canyon.

On our way into California we drove again on this:

We got to Coronado on Saturday night, let ourselves into the house because they were out of town and went straight to bed. Sunday we baked cookies and bought wine and waited anxiously for the Hopkins to get home. They finally did, though it took a while, and since both Bits' brothers were home (an event that only happens about once a year) we had a big BBQ and drank the night away! Monday we checked out some local beaches and got some new tan lines. Here's a view pretty much from Bits' front yard:

Tuesday we went to the world famous San Diego Zoo! It truly was the best zoo I have ever been too.

After I dropped my dear LaceFace off at the airport on Wednesday afternoon, I made my way to Encinitas, about 30 minutes north of Coronado, to my cousins Jeff and Katie! Yayyy!! They now have two beautiful children: Quincy Jean is almost 2 and Zetta Sue is just 6 days old! Check out these great pics:

I leave tomorrow for San Luis Obispo, my new resting spot for a few months. Another short 6 hours, but this time I have to do it alone :( Take it easy everyone and please oh please come visit me soon.

I miss you all SO much!

Love, Shub :)

We have made it!

Turn off Phantom Planet e'erybody, because California here we ARE! Hoooraayyy!!!!!

After a long and arduous trek through the mountains of eastern California, we find our resting place now at my roommate's house in Coronado, a little peninsula off of San Diego. We are headed to the beach today, and LaceFace flies out on Wednesday afternoon. So the perfect pair will be parting ways in just a few days :( I will still be keeping up with the posts, however, and letting you know how my new life out here is going.

My cousins Jeff and Katie just had a new baby! So I will be hopefully be going to Encinitas some time in the next couple of days to see her. Keep checkin' and I'll be putting more pictures up soon.

I miss everyone so much!

Love Face and Shub :)

The GRAND Canyon is beyond grand.

Ok people, if you have never seen the Grand Canyon, these photos will certainly not do it justice. The great thing about this world wonder, is that it is right here in our own country! So please oh PLEASE if you have never seen it, find some time in your life to do so. It is worth every cent we have spent and every mile we have driven (3061, by the way).

We stayed last night in a crappy hotel in Williams, AZ, about an hour south of the South Rim. The theme for these hotels is still "You get what you pay for." Oh well. We don't mind. We are having the time of our lives. Williams, AZ is also right on the Historic Route 66! Another cool thing to say we have done.

As always, please check facebook for the full slew of pictures. Here's just a sampling of the 162 pics that I took in a matter of about 4 hours. Enjoy!
